Public Statement - 2026 General Election

We want to share an important clarification about our recent city election.
Under Texas Local Government Code Chapter 2, Sec 2.001 & Chapter 22, Sec 22.004, municipal elections like ours are decided by plurality, not majority. That means the candidate who receives the most votes wins, even if the total is less than 50%. Because of this, there are no runoffs required or permitted in this election. The results stand as determined by the official vote count.
