EMERGENCY WATER WELL REPAIR NOTICE

Final Update 7/14 11:30am:  Well repair is completed and it is now back in service.  A boil water notice is not required and will not be issued.  This is the last update that will be posted on the well repair.  The City appreciates your patience and cooperation on conserving water during this process.

Update 7/14 9:45am:  We have received passing test results on the laboratory testing.  A boil water notice is not required and will not be issued.  City personnel are currently putting the well back in service.  We’ll post a final update once the well is in service.

Update 7/13 8:30am:  Well was made functional overnight and a water sample has been taken.  The well has not been put into service because we waiting on test results from the water sample. Test results are scheduled to be received tomorrow morning.  We anticipate putting well into service by 12 noon tomorrow if we receive passing test results tomorrow morning.  No activity or work is anticipated on the well today or overnight.  Next update expected tomorrow morning after we are notified of test results.  Please continue to conserve water – we appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Update 7/12 4:50pm: Above ground equipment has been installed. Flushing and testing is estimated to begin by 10pm. Sampling will take place overnight and testing on the sample will begin around 8am tomorrow. Expect test results by Friday morning. Everything is still going as planned. Update to come in the morning.

Update 7/12 1:45pm:  All downhole equipment has been installed.  Currently, personnel are working on re-installing above ground equipment (motor, discharge head, piping, valves, etc).  We anticipate the well to be functional later this afternoon so it can be disinfected, flushed, and sampled for testing.  As mentioned in the previous update, it takes approximately 24 hours for testing.  We are planning to keep the well out of service until we receive passing test results since system pressure has been above the acceptable level throughout this process.  The approach is to avoid inconveniencing customers with a boil water notice, if possible.  Please continue to conserve water and expect the next update at approximately 5pm today.

Update 7/12 8:45am: Well repairs continue and good progress was made overnight.  We are anticipating the well equipment to be operational later today if all goes well.  Unless there is a severe emergency, the well will not be put into service until passing test results are received on water samples.  It takes approximately 24 hours to get results on a water sample.  We appreciate your patience and please continue to conserve water.  Next update will be mid-day.

UPDATE 7/11 8:10pm: Apologies for the delay. All is "well" and we will update in the morning.

UPDATE 7/11 1:30pm: No major developments since the morning update.  Work is ongoing this afternoon and will continue through the night.  No changes to 48 to 72-hour anticipated duration.  Next update expected at approximately 5pm today.
