Magnolia 4B Community Development Corporation (MCDC-4B)

The City of Magnolia Community Development Corporation (MCDC-4B) was established on March 14, 1995, following the passage of one-fourth (1/4) of one-percent (1%) sales tax dedicated to community development by the residents of Magnolia.

MCDC-4B is a non-profit, tax-exempt Texas Corporation, and a separate entity from any other board or commission of the City of Magnolia. The MCDC-4B provides leadership and funding for projects that enhance and preserve Magnolia's quality of life.

The 4B Corporation is overseen by the development corporation’s Board of Directors and by the City Council. The Board of Directors employs an Executive Director to organize all community development activities.

The MCDC-4B meets on the second Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. The meetings are held at City Hall in the Sewall Smith Council Chambers.

Annually, the MCDC 4B Board prepares a budget and annual project list based on sales tax projections. These initiatives require approval from the Magnolia City Council. The 4B Corporation is subject to both the Open Meetings Act and the Public Information Act, therefore; accurate meeting minutes are considered permanent records.
