Crime Prevention Inspections

Crime prevention initiatives reduce or eliminate the risk of crime. Each and every resident is responsible for preventing crimes. Crime prevention takes on many forms including: police officers patrolling your neighborhood, closing your garage door, locking your vehicles and contacting the Police Department if you observe suspicious behavior. To be successful, crime prevention must be a partnership between the Police Department and the community.

A new service that we’re providing to our residents is a Crime Prevention Specialist. This is an officer that has been through Crime Prevention training and is certified to conduct home inspections. Upon scheduling an appointment through the PD, this officer will come out to the home and conduct a thorough inspection inside and out. Upon completion, tips and recommendations will be given to help the homeowners so they can be less of a target to criminals. This is an extensive inspection and will bring weaknesses to light, that most homeowners would never know. This is at no cost to the homeowner so city residents are welcome to set an appointment.
